Bellfield Junior School

ā€˜Building the foundations for your child's future - together'

A A A

Commonwealth Games 2022

The school is part of the 'Commonwealth Games 2022' schools project with BEP, Youth Sport Trust, the British Council and jointly with schools in Pakistan & 5 other schools local to us (2 primary, 3 secondary). We are looking forward to being a big part of the games coming up too. More information and photos of events will be added over the next few months.

'Changemakers' are children chosen by other children and staff to help lead the project in PE & art. They will have a big voice on events, projects and decisions in school over the next few months. The 16 PE 'Changemakers' from all year groups took part in a day's 'play leader' training with Aspire Sports, learning how to lead games, sports & dance at playtimes and lunchtimes - they are now fully in their roles.

Our Jingle Truck revealed! WOW!

A brilliant collaboration between 3 primary & 3 secondary schools that we were proud to be part of.

Thanks to artist, Sue Guthrie for all her support and hard work.

It visited the school on 12.7.22, including a baton handowver to the school.

Our Art Changemakers have been designing and creating, for our joint project with our

partner schools, for our Jingle Truck - how amazing will it look when it's finished!?

Our Sports Changemakers went to Colmers Secondary to take part in

an event to mark the short time left to the start of the Commonwealth Games 2022, taking part in a mock opening ceremony & a variety of Commonwealth Games sports, alongside other schools, and talking to our partner school in Pakistan.

And again at event 2. We also met Jenny Wallwork (GB badminton player) and Steve Frew, an Olympic gold medallist in gymnastics who is now our school mentor.

Our postcards to our link school in Pakistan - St Patrick's High School -

were received and displayed in their school in April 2022!
