‘Building the foundations for your child's future - together'

Curriculum Matrix

Our e-safety lessons are split into 8 different topics (each topic = 1 lesson) with each topic building on a progression of knowledge and skills each year. 3 e-safety topics are taught in HT1 and the remaining 5 topics will be taught over the following half terms. Each year group teaches the same e-safety topic at the same time. We feel it is important to always be going back to e-safety throughout the year as it is such an increasingly important topic.

Our computing lessons use and adapt the 'Kapow Primary' scheme of learning. Each unit is 5 lessons long, with years 4-6 will completing 5 Kapow units over the year, and year 3 completing 4 (as their first unit will be an ‘Introduction to Computing’ unit planned by the Computing lead).

At the end of each unit, the children complete an end of unit quiz, with teachers using these to aid them with their assessment.

SAFER INTERNET DAY 2023

This year at Bellfield, we celebrated Safer Internet Day by learning related to the theme of 'Want To Talk About It?', promoting the importance of talking about our problems and not bottling things up - especially with things that we see that upset us online. All classes produced their own story based on 'Mina and the Magic Window' and a winning piece of work was chosen from each class. Take a look below at their amazing work!
